The Edit: Hannah

I've been dying to do makeup interviews (sort of top shelf style) here on the blog forever. But I obviously don't have budget to fly around and take photos of my blogger friend's makeup bags!

So I decided to start closer to home with my coworker and dear friend Hannah. She's the only person I know in real life who's as beauty obsessed as me, so this should be a long one! So here's what's in her every day makeup bag...

The Makeup Base Edit

I've never really been a primer person, it's always just seemed like an unnecessary step to me. But priming moisturizer, that's a different story.

In my mind there is nothing worse than foundation going onto dry skin. But on the other hand, sometimes moisturizer under makeup makes it wear off faster or look a little too dewy. So I began to amass a collection of moisturizing products that wear really really well under makeup. These beauts leave your skin looking primed and perfect, and foundation just glides on top.

What's in My Bag

I thought I wasn't the kind of person that carries a bunch of crap around in their bag, but looking at it all spread out maybe I am (yikes).

I also never used to be someone that touched up their makeup, but like 90% of the stuff here is makeup related... who am I?! Anyway, I got some cute things recently and I was trying to figure out a way to talk about them in one post and ta da! A what's in my bag post! Genius, Amelia. I don't know that I've ever done this before on the blog. I'm pretty sure there's an old video on private somewhere, but we don't really need to talk about that. Onto the junk!

The Classics: A Red Lip

There are few things I love more than a red lip.

For example a red lip is wayyyyy better than stubbing your toe on a coffee table, or waking up before your alarm, or tripping over your own feet in the middle of campus. Basically it's pretty freakin' great right?? A rep lip is a classic look for me (and probably everyone else ever) that you can depend on when you're not sure what to do. I decided to do a little series of classic looks accompanied by tutorials! Woohoo! I will warn you this one is very rambly so prepare yourself.

A Mask for Every Day of the Week

I'm a face mask obsessive.

Like I'm actually not joking when I say I use one almost every day. They're my fave because you generally see immediate results and I'm a super impatient person. I like that you can choose a specific mask to correct a specific problem and let's be real they're just damn fun. I wouldn't say I stick to a specific masking routine, but I thought it'd be fun to choose a mask to wear everyday this week and see the results!

Detox Day

About once a week I have a biiiiig detox day. It's usually Sunday because I generally have the evening off and it's the perfect opportunity to get all of the week's gunk out of my pores.

Thinking about how much crap gets stuck down in my pores makes me a little sick, and even though I double (sometimes triple) cleanse every night you know there's dirt deep down. SO, detox day is the day that I slap on hella skincare products, sit down with some tea and a book, and get it allllll out.(*note that I don't use all of these products at once, these are just a few things that I do use on detox day*)
