The April Edit
THE APRIL EDIT
Alright people, it's the end of April (nearly middle of May really) and with that comes the end of my college career (yikes). So, I thought this month I'd bring you my it's finals week I truly don't have time for this plus it's 600000 degrees outside faves. I suppose I could have gone without makeup, but then this would be a really boring post.
First things first, there's no way I'm running around campus in a foundation, so I stuck to my Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint. In fact, I only have the dregs of this bottle left. This little babe either gets a lotta love or a lotta hate here in the beauty community. But you have to take it at face value, it's called a tint, so it's a tint. Don't expect coverage, just a lovely evening out of skin tone and a bit of added glow. To me it's the perfect spring/summer base.
Now, finals time isn't exactly stress-free so despite my best skincare efforts, I've had a face full of spots and some pretty serious dark circles. On the days where I could be bothered, I've been reaching for my newest concealer edition. The Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Concealer is a fairly recent release, and promises medium to full coverage that's weightless and perfects, hydrates, and blurs. I'm a concealer skeptic, but I'll be damned if I didn't immediately fall in love with this. To me, it's pretty full coverage and a little goes a looooong way. It conceals blemishes and dark circles without being dry (sorry shape tape, but you cakey girl), and it actually does sort of add a blurring/smoothing effect. I love.
I've also found a new brow love! I've never really been that into Covergirl, but this Micro-Fine Fill + Define Eyebrow Pencil is actually really nice. It's quite a "dry" formula, but goes on really creamy but also creates nice fine lines. Wear time is above average for me, even in this crazy heat!
When I could be bothered, I stumbled upon a gorgeous new cheek combo, Kjaer Weis' Suntouched and the Nars Multiple in Mauritanie. This combo gives your cheeks that perfect almost sunburnt look. And the two formulas actually work really well together! The matte multiple tones down a bit of the Kjaer Weis' dewiness making it look really skin like. Its rekindled my love for the multiples formula and I think Copacabana will be coming out to play a lot this month.
Onto a few skincare goodies. First, I know what you're thinking, Amelia drank the Caudalíe Beauty Elixir Kool aid. I did. 100000%. I always thought there's no way it's that good. But my god, this is the finest mist I've ever felt in my entire life. It's like when you go to a theme park and they have those arches that spray mist on you to cool down? So, so fine. I love it under makeup, over makeup, on bare skin. It's gorgeous and have a fresh minty scent. It's like the Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist but better.
I've been super lazy with serums and stuff this month, I've just been sticking to these super rich oils. I've done an entire post dedicated to the Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate and Glow Oil, so I'll leave that here. Basically, it's a beautifully lightweight oil that's super rich in antioxidants and leaves my skin looking and feeling incredibly healthy.
My angel baby Dena came out with her own angel baby recently, Leo Oil! I immediately bought it and have been super in love since. It's a combination of Blue Tansy, Rosehip Seed Oil, and Meadowfoam Seed Oil, some of my favourite skincare ingredients. Firstly, it smells like Earl Grey so applying it at night is a therapeutic experience. The Oil itself is super rich (how many times will I say that in this most), but sinks in fairly well. This combo is super healing, I've noticed a reduction in the redness in my skin and it feels more plump and hydrated. Will definitely keep you guys updated on how this improves my skin, but in the meantime definitely support Dena and buy a bottle too!
That's it for my favourites from this month! What have you guys been loving?
Let me know in the comments!
