THE MARCH EDIT
I haven't done a monthly favourites post in a while (mostly because I've been in a major makeup rut), but this month I've actually amassed some new things I've been obsessing over! So here they are...
This beaut I bought because of Jamie Genevieve. I adore Kiehl's but I didn't really have any interest in a morning facial oil. However, my skin has been mega dry lately and Jamie always looks so glowy (*insert Scottish accent*) so I decided to pick it up.
It's the perfect daily face oil for me, especially since my skin has been so dry lately. It leaves my skin looking energized and plump but isn't so oily that my makeup slides off. Obviously if you have majorly oily skin, it's probably not something you want to use under makeup unless you have a super matte foundation.
I also love mixing a drop into my moisturizer to amp it up a bit!
Another YouTuber-influenced purchased from Allana (who influences most of my purchases tbh), the Primerizer is a primer and moisturizer in one but unlike most priming moisturizers is suuuuuper lightweight. I personally don't like Smashbox's other primer but this thank goodness lacks the horrible silicone feel. It also actually helps prolong the wear of my makeup! It's definitely not the most hydrating thing I've ever put on my face, so if you have mega dry skin you're going to want to use a real moisturizer.
Also, their pricing seems real off to me. This mini is $15 (which seems kind of a lot), but the full size is $42 for only twice as much product. So you could just get two minis for $30? Questionable. But a great product!
I was incredibly lucky to receive a PR package from Rodin this month including their full range of lipsticks and a backup of the Olio Lusso Lip Balm. To be totally honest I left this sitting in my drawer for a long while, but I used it in the AM a few weeks back because it was just sitting out and WOW. It's a mix of jasmine, neroli, and argan oils so smells amazing and leaves this beautiful glossy finish on the lips. It won't be replacing my bdc any time soon, but it's been a go to for during the day!
I've been obsessed with the Trestique Highlight in Maldives Luminescent for a long while, but hadn't really ventured out into other products. When they sent me the Concealer Pencil I thought the colour looked like a perfect match for me and I was not disappointed. I have the shade Porcelain, the lightest in the abysmal three shade range (I didn't realize this until writing the post so I do apologize). It's a super smooth formula that blends really easily and can be layered, so it is actually good for on the go. Hopefully they'll be expanding their shade range.
This little duo gained a lot of hype when it launched, and it's another one that doesn't disappoint. I really wasn't planning on buying this but then I saw that Maria had one and tbh I aspire to be Maria so I needed it. I have the shade 415 Rosso Parthenope which is a beautiful bright, classic red. The powder basically has the texture of a super smooth eyeshadow, so is incredibly matte. But, it can be paired with the lip balm to give you a diffused, stained look.
I personally find that I prefer the way it looks on me just as a lip powder rather than paired with the balm. It gives a nice, bright pigment that can be built up without ever looking (or feeling) like a heavy matte lip. It's also surprisingly long wearing and has little to no transfer!
I managed to find this on the TJ Maxx site for a bit of a discount so I decided to grab it. Did I need it? Absolutely not. Am I really glad that I got it? Hell yeah. It's the smoothest, most pigmented powder I've ever applied to my face and blends out effortlessly. Adore.
I've been waxing lyrical about this blush so I'm sure you're not exactly surprised to see it here. In short it is absolute perfection. The creamiest, smoothest, most beautiful formula in the perfect every day colour. It matches every look whether bold or simple and can be worn sheer or super built up for an intense look. It's featured in my Best in Blushes post and my Blush Collection video if you'd like to see it in action!
This month I've either been in a no eyeshadow mood or a super grungy mood. And my favourite no hassle grunge look is the Mac Quite Natural Paint Pot. I just blend it all over my eye with a fluffy brush, and wah lah! The perfect grungy kinda-smokey eye. I am just now realizing that this shade has been discontinued because Mac wants me to cry. So I'll have to be basic and suggest the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Tough as Taupe which is slightly cooler, or Mac's Groundwork Paint Pot which is a bit later. Anyone have a good dupe? Help!!
I had a bottle of this several years ago and remember really liking it, but I picked up a new one this month because my friend Tamira has been wearing it on its own lately. And it is beautiful. The perfect sheer, slightly pink colour that looks über chic and also actually protects your nails! I'm wearing actual nail polish at the moment for the first time this month and it is weird.
These beauts haven't left my ears in months. They're nice and classic, but a touch bigger than my normal tiny hoops so they add a little somethin somethin. I especially love them when I have my hair pulled back, they look so chic! As with all Mejuri jewelry, they're super high quality. However, as they're gold vermeil and not solid gold I do take these ones out to shower!
What have you guys been loving this month? Let me know!
