I was going to take a break on the big swatch posts, but then these literal gems landed on my doorstep and how was I to resist? I actually ripped the box clean open and immediately set up my camera (can you spot Dave in the background?)
Lidstar* is a "glistening eye glow, one-step lid enhancement that lights up lids with a wash of twinkling colour."
Of course, Glossier has come out with another incredible formula. They've made a liquid eyeshadow that sets down, doesn't crease, and is full of sheer sparkly goodness. Such a good everyday product and absolutely foolproof, just dab it on and blend out with a finger and you're good to go! In my experience so far, they also layer really well to give a more high impact colour.
I was very kindly sent 4 of the 6 shades which are:
CUB: the perfect rose gold, full of multi coloured shimmer and my favourite of the bunch
MOON: a pale champagne with blue shimmer, absolutely gorgeous as a sheer wash but incredible when built up
HERB: an almost bronzy green shade, gold and pale green shimmer shine through
SLIP: a pale pink with iridescent gold glitter, think Nars Orgasm as an eyeshadow
FAWN: the perfect almost purpley taupe, such a good spring shade
LILY: a gorgeous silvery purple, I can't wait to get my hands on this one
I will be sure to update this post once I have all six!
These lil suckers set down to a powdery finish and then they do. not. budge. I'm talking you need a remover (or MJC) to get them all off. Seriously long wearing. I was expecting the glitter to have fallen out by the end of the day but it still looked perfect! The only shade I've struggled with is Herb, which I have found a little patchy and requires building. It's probably not one that I would wear on its own because it's not a great colour to blend away into my skin, instead I'd put a colour through the crease to pair it with.
Lidstar retails for $18 USD, $22 CAD, £15 GBP and save when you build a duo!
