The Classics: A Red Lip

There are few things I love more than a red lip.

For example a red lip is wayyyyy better than stubbing your toe on a coffee table, or waking up before your alarm, or tripping over your own feet in the middle of campus. Basically it's pretty freakin' great right?? A rep lip is a classic look for me (and probably everyone else ever) that you can depend on when you're not sure what to do. I decided to do a little series of classic looks accompanied by tutorials! Woohoo! I will warn you this one is very rambly so prepare yourself.

For this look I'm using the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation mixed with a bit of the Glossier Skin Tint in Medium for a perfected-skin that still looks like skin. Then I used a wee bit of the Bobbi Brown Instant Full Coverage Concealers in Porcelain and Ivory to spot conceal and the Glossier Stretch Concealer in Light under my eyes. I'm still using the Glossier Wowder in Light/Medium to set my makeup, but like I said in the video I think once winter is here I won't be able to use it anymore (womp).

Then I pile on heeeelllllllaaaa bronzer. A red lip can tend to wash me out a bit because I'm so pale so we really gotta bronze it up. Plus, I actually contour (usually too lazy) to add some definition to my moon-face. I always use the Inglot Matte 360 shadow because it's cool-toned but not too cool-toned ya feel? And then for blush to keep it a bit more neutral I tend to go for the Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk. For highlight I mixed the Topshop Glow Pot in Polished and MAC's Cream Color Base in Hush to make a nice champagne colour that's not too icy and not too warm.

I try to do a bit more of a structured brow usually, but in the video I'm using the NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Ash Brown which is so not my color so I'm on the struggle bus a little bit. I tried to correct it with the Anastasia Dip Brow in Medium Brown and the Glossier Boy Brow in Brown and they almost saved the day (but not quite). For lashes I'm basically in love with the YSL The Shock Mascara. It's super volumizing and lengthening without being clumpy, and seems to last really well. Definitely on my need-to-purchase list.

Then onto the lips. I lined with MAC's Follow Your Heart Lip Pencil, which is honestly unnecessary when you're using the star of the show: Sephora's Cream Lip Stain in 01 Always Red. Listen. This is the most perfect red you'll ever use. Nothing will compare I promise you. It is heaven-sent.

And that's it for the look! Not very intricate, and not very time consuming, but very put together and looks like you put a modicum of effort in! Go you lookin' like a productive member of society! x
