The November Edit

The November Edit

I wasn't going to do a 'favourites' post this month because I truly have just been throwing things on my face and running out the door. But there are a few things I wanted to talk to you about so I figured I'd do a mini edit anyway!

Starting off with my saviour this month... the combo of the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer and Glossier's Stretch Concealer. If you have these two and have never tried mixing them... do so immediately. If you have neither I'm gonna go ahead and recommend that you get them both. BECAUSE. I find the NARS a little too dry and the colour is also a tiny bit too pale, and sometimes for a reaaaally long day the Glossier doesn't have enough staying power. But together? Totally flawless, totally covered, totally smooth, and totally natural looking. I honestly think that it may be magic. I'm considering petitioning that the brands collab. Or I supposed I could scrape some of each into a separate pot. But could you imagine a NARS/Glossier hybrid packaging? Drool.

Okay next I'd like to draw your attention to that poor broken eyeshadow (as if you hadn't already been cringing at it). Not really sure what happened there to be honest but who cares because we're talking about how FAB it is. This is the KIKO Smart Colour Eyeshadow in 02 Pearly Champagne. Right. This eyeshadow is $5 (or £2.50 I mean come on), and is a beautiful highlighter. If you've been wanting to try out the highlight from the Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow Palette, try this. It is nearly exactly the same colour and I actually think it has more pigment. Gorgeous.

Also on my face I've been loving the Lilah B. Divine Duo Lip & Cheeks. These are creamy blush/lip products that look so beautiful on the skin. They go on and blend out super easily and set to an almost satin finish, meaning they look incredibly seamless and also wear really really well. My favourite this month has been b. real, a light baby pink, but I also adore b. lovely, the perfect nudey beige. This packaging is also so luxe, I love pulling it out of my bag!

If you saw a few weeks back, I did an edit of my friend Hannah's makeup bag. She's introduced me to a bunch of great products but the absolute star of the show is this LA Girl Shady Slim Brow Pencil. This. is. gold. Again, $5 (sometimes $5.99), and honestly might be even better than the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. It's much less waxy than the NYX Micro Brow offering, making it more comparable to ABH in my opinion. It's mega creamy so it goes on really smoothly, but not so creamy that it doesn't last. I have never gotten so many compliments on my brows, and it seriously takes me two minutes to do them now. Love.

With the cold winter months setting in I really have to focus on taking care of my poor skin on the rest of my body (even though I'm really lazy) so I usually rely on oils because I find them super easy to use and mega hydrating.

My go to at the moment is the French Girl Organics Lumière Body Oil. This beaut is super lightweight meaning I can apply it before bed and not have to worry about getting straight in my pajamas (because I need to get into them immediately). It contains Argan Oil full of rich fatty acids, Coconut and Palm Kernel Oils which are deeply hydrating, and Camellia and Sunflower Oils which are rich in oleic and omega fatty acids. The fulllll list of oils goes as such: argan oil, jojoba oil, sunflower seed oil, evening primrose oil, rosehip oil, coconut oil, camellia seed oil, pomegranate seed oil, meadowfoam oil, ylang ylang oil, neroli oil. So. Mega.

Last but not least, I've been reaching for my Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay a lot recently. The scent is super fresh and crisp, and considering I've been dragging my feet around like a zombie quite uplifting. We all know I'm horrible at describing scents, but Jo says... "A burst of deep, tart blackberry juice, blending with the freshness of just-gathered bay and brambly woods. Vibrant and verdant." This is definitely one that I rely on and don't have to think about. It isn't overwhelming so it's great for days that I look like a bum and want to smell good but not too good (ya know what I'm saying?)

What have you guys been loving this month?

x A
