The Sephora VIB Sale Haul Fall 2017

Ello ello ello! Long time no type! If you follow me on Insta (you should, obviously), then you know that it's my senior thesis semester. My gallery show was on Monday so life has been insane and I've had to put the poor blog on the back burner. But I'm back, and a few exciting things have happened since I've been MIA. I was named one of Shape/Shift Report's Top 100 Micro Influencers and Content Creators of 2017, was interviewed on Phyto's blog La Phytotèque, AND my Sephora VIB order came!! I clearly went a little bit crazy this time around. To be fair, I had a $90 gift card and I thought that I deserved a bit of a treat after all this hard work! So let's get into it…

The first thing I knew I wanted was this Commodity 3x3 Exploration Kit. I've been dying to try their fragrances for a while, and I just burned up 90% of my candles so this seemed like a great deal! And at $38 full price it definitely wouldn't break the bank. All of the scents are beautiful, and the candles smell super strong even without being lit. I think my favourite so far is Orris, a "contrasting duality between sparkling freshness and warm sensuality. Exquisite spices like pink pepper, coriander, and carrot seed are combined with the elegant tonality of orris to reveal a beautiful, fresh floralcy" (no good at describing fragrances so I'll let you read their's). This one kept going in and out of stock so I'm glad I actually got it.

Also going in and out of stock, maddeningly, was the NARS x Man Ray Love Triangle Sets. I managed to get my hands on the Deep Throat and Barbara set, both nudey-rose colours that are right up my ally. They are teeeeeny tiny and so so cute. Especially that baby lipstick! Look at it! It does seem fairly similar to MAC Velvet Teddy to me, but perhaps I'm wrong. Just from looking at it, it leans a bit more pink and less warm so hopefully it's more flattering for my skin tone! I always think a good satin finish is more forgiving anyway. I also feel like I haven't had a NARS Blush in forever so I'm psyched to try this one!

I ended up getting a few lip colours this go around, something that I do not need. At all. But I saw Hey Claire talking about the YSL Tatouage Couture Lip Stains and decided I needed one. I'd originally planned on getting Black Red Code but that sucker was out of stock too. I settled for Violet Conviction and I am so glad I did as it's beautiful. It's described as a deep blackberry, which I think is perfect. It still has that juicy redness, but with a purple undertone that makes it a bit different from other things in my collection. I haven't worn this on my lips yet, but jiminy christmas did it stain the back of my hand fuchsia. Fair warning to any of you wanting to try these, I'm assuming your lips will be stained too, they weren't kidding. [EDIT: I have this on right now and it is SO comfortable, feels like nothing at all. It does transfer a little bit, but so far the colour is packing a punch]

When Lancôme posted on their Instagram about the incredible L'Absolu Rogue Lipsticks, I immediately added Beige Mirage to my cart. Can we talk about that click packaging?? The most satisfying thing ever. Aside from the gorgeous packaging, these beauts come in three different formulas: matte, cream, and sheer (although the Lancôme and Sephora sites call them different things). Beige Mirage is a cream finish that seems to feel mega comfortable, but still long wearing. The colour is a nice pinky-nude, much lighter than Barbara and surprisingly warm. I'll have to try this on properly before forming an opinion!

Last minute I added this tiny Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist to my cart. It was $20, which looking at now is a little yikes, but I've been dying to try their products! And as a cult classic I figured this was a good place to start. I do have my eye on the Water Cream, but that may have to wait until the Spring sale!

I also decided at the last minute that I wanted to get the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. Did I need this? Not at all. Do I have 6 other tinted moisturizers sitting in my drawer? Absolutely. But regardless! I bought it! I've always heard rave reviews of this baby, and have only ever had the Velvet Matte offering from NARS. So I figured I owed it to them to try, am I right? I did have a bit of a shade error, I could've sworn I owned Alaska, but apparently my Velvet Matte is in Finland, and I actually ended up exchanging the Pure Radiant for Terre Neuve (even though it says it has a pink undertone, gasp!). Did you follow that sentence? Cause I didn't. Anyway, I have this on my face at the moment and it feels and looks absolutely divine. Definitely keep your eyes out for a somewhat comprehensive review of this in the future.

Redeeming my Sephora point is always a bit of a struggle for me. I spent my hard-earned money for them! I really wish Sephora would get their act together and do a money-off system like Ulta. This time around I got this baby Farmacy Honey Potion Mask, which I've been wanting to try for an absolute age. I tried it last night, but perhaps I didn't use enough because it didn't blow me away like 90% of the population. I of course didn't get the samples I asked for, but did quite luckily end up with this cute lil Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin which I've also been wanting to try! Win!

Did you guys get anything in the VIB sale this time around? Let me know so I can add to my endless wishlist ;)

x A
