A Love Letter to Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow

A Love Letter to Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow

This is pretty much goddess skin in a bottle.

And I honestly wouldn't say that that's an exaggeration. I tend to find Charlotte Tilbury products very hit or miss, but the Wonder Glow knocks it right out of the park. It's one of those super multi-use products, which I love. You can use it as a base for makeup, mix it with foundation, or on top as a subtle highlight. It is fulllll of shimmer, but once on the skin it sort of blends away into a luminous glow rather than shimmer particles. The colour is a beautiful golden-beige that doesn't lean too warm or too cool. As I'm sure you all know, I'm pale as paper and this works really well on my skin tone. It kind of brightens my skin up and adds a lil colour without looking crazy.

The texture is liquidy, but not watery making it easy to apply or mix in with other products. Charlotte's product descriptions are a little ridiculous, but she says that 'Soft focus ceramic microspheres smooth over wrinkles and imperfect skin tone, creating an anti-ageing optical illusion for a flawless, poreless complexion.' Like clearly it's not age-erasing, but it really helps smooth my skin out. It doesn't have any silicone or typical smooth feel you get from those type of primers, but I swear my foundation goes on ridiculously even on top of this. I haven't noticed any long term effects from this, so if you're looking for a primer that actually improves your skin this isn't it. It's more like an instant gratification thing, something that I use every day.

I've seen a few people say that they wear this on its own, but I'd personally find that a little toooo glowy. Maybe if you diluted it with some moisturizer or something, but it definitely leaves a visible sheen on the skin if left alone. I do however think that because of the yellow-gold tone, it's pretty good at cancelling out the redness in my skin meaning this works really well with a super light base for me!

I wish I had a better way to articulate how fabulous this is, but it's truly just magic.

I did just pick up the Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder Morning Aura, so I'm interested to see how these stack up considering they're in a similar category.

Have you guys ever tried Wonder Glow?
