Four to Try 01

Four to Try 01

I haven't done a favourites post in quite a while because I feel like I've just been using the same products and it'd get a bit boring.

BUT, I definitely want to do these little edits so I can talk to you about a few things I've been loving at a time. Think we need a better title though... any ideas?

First up is the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick, which I picked up when I had an Ulta coupon a few weeks ago. Honestly blown away by how incredible this is. It's a fairly full coverage (read: if you put enough on it's FULL coverage) stick foundation that claims a 24-hr wear. I love stick foundations in theory but usually not in practice. They're easy to put on and waste zero product (if you usually pump on the back of your hand). But I usually find them hard to blend, heavy-feeling, and a little dry. Throw all those misconceptions out the window with this one.

This is a smooooooth, super lightweight formula that blends out effortlessly. There's no skipping or dragging upon application, and blends well with fingers, a brush, or a beauty blender. The finish this gives your skin is absolutely unreal. I've had particularly rough skin this month, but this makes it look totally flawless and smooth. I think it may be magic. Because it's a velvety texture it builds really easily without ever getting cakey, meaning it'll cover everything and still look super natural. It also does have a super long wear time, making it through class and work for me. And dare I say it looks better as you wear it?

My singular complaint is that the packaging feels super cheap and the component isn't great, the twist feels really cheaply made. I do wish it were even a little bit heavier. Or maybe the sticker-label being actually printed on the tube would change that a bit. I'm totally willing to pay for the product anyway, but for Lancôme, it seems a little off.

Regardless, this beauty has definitely made it into my top foundations!

Next up is an item that Lilah B very kindly sent to me over the summer, the Bronzed Beauty Bronzer Duo. I was super duper excited to try this because my Glossier angel babe Sam raved about it. It's very similar to my beloved Charlotte Tilbury in terms of texture, super smooth and very natural looking. It is a liiiiittle bit warmer, but I'm totally fine with looking even bronzier. Lilah B obviously always knocks it out of the park with their packaging. The heavy white pebbles are so so so beautiful.

For highlight I've been loving the Burberry Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen. It's one of those reaaaally shiny highlighters that looks almost wet, with no glitter in sight. The texture is fairly similar to the Glossier Haloscopes in that it's very dewy, but I find that this one wears better (and my hair doesn't stick to it). At first I was a little unsure about the really slim pen, but it actually makes it so easy to apply to the nose, Cupid's bow, and inner corner without getting it absolutely everywhere. It also makes it perfect to throw in your bag to reapply if you choose too (I don't usually need to). The colour is a nice icy champagne, perfect for my skin tone, but if you have a deeper colour you may want to try it out first.

Last but certainly not least are these Colour Riche Eyeshadows from L'Oréal. These are super affordable, at only $4.99 at Target, and have a pretty good range of colours! I have the shades Pain Au Chocolat, a beautiful lilacy mauve with an icy sheen, and Little Beige Dress, a matte pinky mauve. These formulas are so beautiful, silky and super pigmented and they layer really well. Definitely have my eye on several of the shades.

What have you guys been loving lately?
